"Be seekers of death. Death will teach you about being chosen."
(Jesus, from The Secret Book of James)
~
One problem with death is that people don't respect or worship it as a force or power in nature which is greater or higher than themselves. We worship and respect the Spirit of life because it sustains us; but we have not seen fit to extend the hand of friendship to Thanatos, lord of death. But this libidinal reversal, mortido, or death-blow could be a valuable source of information, insight, and spiritual revelation.
~
Life feels good because it's the Spirit of Ruach Elohim, the out-Breath of God. But what if death, the Holy Ghost, is also the Spirit of God, returning? If death is also God, then we deny it at our ignorance. Death is the ebb of Spirit; the catabolic undoing of materiality. Therefore, in order to understand the Voice of God, who is All in my mind, I must first form a relationship with Thanatos.
~
Thanatos is a powerful force of nature; an archetypal, eternal presence of Being greater than any human. Therefore, invoking Thanatos means sacrificing oneself into the elemental fire of death's catabolic destructivity. Who is willing to give up or suspend the will to live in order to know the wish of death, mortido, and its powerful implosion?
~
For most of us, the ex-perience and knowledge of death is repressed into unconsciousness. It can be invoked or summoned up into awareness, but the energy and power of archetypal forces is so great and overwhelming that we instinctually don't even let them get close to subsuming our modern egos.
~
Death is invoked, even as I now write; called forth on the horizon of my egoic thought-scape. He rises up like the Black Sun, Sol Niger. Thanatos, lord of death is come! His catabolic ray of disintegration and de-mentation dark shines in my mind. He hovers above like a black craft, ready to perform his sacramental rite-of-passage: destruction, abduction, transublimation.
~
His scythe of death sweeps across my thought-scape like a flaming sword. The apocalypse has come again, to end time, and defeat the Tetragrammaton, YHWH, the demiurgic and judgeMental ruler of this human kingdom of corporeal suffering.
~
Dear lord Yama, free my Spirit from this human cloak of ignorance. I call you forth into consciousness that you may perform your innate function as saviour, destroyer, abductor, and transubstantiator. I am as nothing before your great power of disintegration. Your force or death-blow blows my ego away, negates my mind, cancelling out my lower, human perspective.
~
You, my lord of death, are the way to truth and eternal Life. I give up my egoic will to live, so that yours can perform its sacramental function. You have baptized me with fire; swallowed me whole eucharistically as your feast; and dispelled my human con-fusion in the Light and matrimonial fusion of your higher intelligence.

Such is Death
~
The Black Sun shines
like the Dragon's breath,
issuing forth rays of destructiveness.
Sol Niger endarkens my mind;
his catabolic gaze afire,
ashes to ashes expire.
The Anti-Christ, now risen,
negates this world undone;
Luciferic lucidity sees through to the bone.
Shivic consciousness ablaze
blackens and burns,
returns me to the grave.
But the Phoenix rises
like the new-born day;
life and death, in the end,
turn out to be the same:
the flow and ebb motion
of the same primordial Ocean.
Thanatos, lord of death,
there is no resurrection
without your wrath.
God, you are known
through your inBreath home:
your holy exSpiration
transports me to your Kingdom come.
